Thanks to achieving a high position in the prestigious call under the “Excellence initiative – research university” programme (IDUB), implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the University of Silesia in Katowice will receive additional financial support – subsidy increased by 2% in comparison to 2019.
The financial resources in the amount of PLN 6,196,200 will be fully allocated to the implementation of Research Excellence Initiative, whose goal is to strengthen the position of the University of Silesia in Katowice as a research university e.g. by improving the level of scientific research, supporting professional development of employees and increasing the University’s international recognition. Research Excellence Initiative consists of six areas of support:
- research – financing scientific research of international importance,
- visibility – financing open access to scientific publications
- young talents – development of students and doctoral students,
- development – trainings for employees,
- infrastructure – purchase of research, educational and artistic equipment,
- mobility – financing foreign scientific internships.
